With the start of the school year expectations for students are constantly increasing at a pace that is too fast for students to tackle. There was a study done by several doctors that will be published in the British Journal of Educational Psychology that had over 1,000 students participate in. Students were given a few questionnaires about their motivation to learn and how they learn. The students surveyed that established an early fear of school reflected it in their responses. This study confirmed that students that fear failure at school reflect negatively and lack motivation. Dr. Michou, one of the doctors running the study, says that the results from this study suggests that parents and teachers should be more sensitive and more helpful when encouraging students.
