Discipline: training to act in accordance with the rules. The same definition for everyone, but the interpretation is different for each parent. How to discipline is a question often discussed with no definite answer; however, multiple studies have shown that spanking is not a wise choice. Results of various studies has shown that spanking your child can decrease the amount of gray matter found in their prefrontal cortex, the decision making part of the brain. Less gray matter can lead to depression, addiction, and other mental health disorders. There is also a correlation between the amount of gray matter and a child’s performance on an IQ test. There is no positive outcome of spanking your child.
